Installer l'extension Firewall AI

Install the Firewall AI extension

Firewall AI is deployed by your organisation: your administrator creates your account and gives you your provisioning token. Choose your browser to see the steps.

Chrome et Edge

Obtenir l'extension

Chrome and Edge

Get the extension

Your administrator tells you where to find it: a .zip archive shared by both browsers, or an enterprise policy deployment. Minimum versions: Chrome or Edge 113.

Install and turn on

Open chrome://extensions (edge://extensions in Edge) and check that Firewall AI is turned on. If the extension was loaded from a folder (“Load unpacked”), developer mode must stay on and the folder must not be moved or deleted.

Pin to the toolbar

Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar, then the pin next to Firewall AI. Without it, the token cannot be pasted easily.

Allow access to sites

In Chrome, click “Details” on the extension's card, then set “Site access” to “On all sites”.

Sign in with the token

Click the Firewall AI icon in the toolbar, paste the token into the “Provisioning token” field, then click “Sign in”. The extension then shows “Protected”. If your organisation deploys the extension by policy, the token can be supplied automatically: you then have nothing to type.

If sign-in fails:

  • “Invalid or already used token, or account disabled”: the server refused the token. Ask your administrator for a new one.
  • “Invalid token: it does not come from a recognised Firewall AI server.”: ask your administrator for the token again.
  • “Server unreachable. Check your network connection.” or “The server is not responding. Try again in a moment.”: this is a network or server problem, not a token problem.

Private browsing

By default, a private window is not protected. To allow it there:

  • Chrome: chrome://extensions, Firewall AI card, “Details”, then “Allow in Incognito”.
  • Edge: edge://extensions, Firewall AI card, “Details”, then the option to allow it in InPrivate.

If your organisation deployed the extension by policy, this permission cannot be enforced: ask your administrator how private browsing is handled.

Restrict, turn off or uninstall

Restricting site access stops the protection on the excluded sites, while the extension still looks turned on.

  • Restrict: “Details” on the Firewall AI card, then “Site access”.
  • Turn off: the switch on the card.
  • Uninstall: “Remove” on the card.

If your organisation requires Firewall AI, check with your administrator before turning it off.

Installed by my organisation

An extension installed by enterprise policy can be neither uninstalled nor turned off by the user. This is intended: installation, updates and removal are managed by your administrator. For any request, contact them.

Firefox

Obtenir l'extension

  • Restreindre : about:addons, Firewall AI, onglet Autorisations.
  • Désactiver : l'interrupteur dans about:addons.

  • Uninstall: turn the extension off in the same settings, then delete the Firewall AI app from the Applications folder.

If your organisation requires Firewall AI, check with your administrator before turning it off.

Installed by my organisation

On Safari, the extension is turned on in Safari's Settings; ask your administrator how your organisation manages it.

After installation

Protected sites

The extension acts on these AI services: ChatGPT (chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com), Claude (claude.ai), Gemini (gemini.google.com), Grok (grok.com), Copilot (copilot.microsoft.com) and Perplexity (perplexity.ai), as well as on sites added by your organisation's administrator, for example an internal AI tool. On all other sites it does nothing.

Difference between browsers: the www.perplexity.ai address is covered on Safari only. On Chrome, Edge and Firefox, only perplexity.ai is covered, unless your administrator has added www.perplexity.ai to your organisation's list.

Files analysed

.txt, .csv, .pdf and .xlsx files, up to 20 MB, while you are signed in. The analysis starts as soon as you select the file. Files of another format or larger than that are skipped without any message: the extension does not analyse them. This is the same in every browser.
